Microsoft Unveils the Lumia 540

Microsoft recently announced the low-cost Lumia 540, another edition to its low cost smartphone lineup. It will be available for $150 starting later this month.

The Lumia 540 will have a 5″ 720p display, 1GB of RAM, an 8 Megapixel camera with a 5 Megapixel  front facing camera – perfect for Skype. It will also be using the Qualcomm 200 Quadcore CPU at 1.2 GHZ, with 8GB of storage that’s expandable to 128GB via Micro SD card. Finally, it will be packing a 2200 MAH battery that should keep you going for a while.

The Lumia 540 single sim version is an India only device, while the Duel Sim version will be available in emerging markets later this year. As for the OS the Lumia 540 will be running Windows Phone Denim (8.1 GDR 1) and will be upgraded to Windows 10 later this year.
