Sony Highlights From IFA



Sony this year at IFA announced a slew of Phones, a tablet, two wearable devices, and a new Hi FI product line based around the Legendary “Walkman” brand.


In terms of smartphones, Sony unveiled the Sony Xperia Z3 and the Z3 Compact; the Smaller, but as capable little sibling of the Z3. The Z3 (larger one) has a 5.2 1080p display, a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon processor 3GB of Ram, Android 4.4.4 KitKat and a new and improved 20.7 Megapixel camera with a wider angle lense and a better iso sensor. Finally, the regular Z3 also has a much-lauded “2 day battery life” which should allow for impressive performance. The more interesting device, the Z3 Compact, runs the exact same specs as the Z3 with the only difference being the a 720 display over a 1080p display. The final phone unveiled was the Sony Xperia E3, the more affordable and version of its flagship line up. The device has a 4.6 display for excellent viewing experience, 8GB of storage that is expandable via microsSD card, and 3GB of RAM, all of which is powered by a Quad Core Snapdragon 400 processor alongside a 2330 Mah battery.


Sony announced a single tablet at the event, the Z3 Tablet Compact. The device will have a 8in 1080p display, alongside Android KitKat, and a Quadcore 2.5GHZ processor with 3GB of Ram and a 8 megapixel camera.


Sony launched two new wearables at this show. The Sony Talk, a fitness bad with an E-ink display and is capable of receiving phone calls via Bluetooth. The other wearable is the Sony Smartwatch 3. This device has the distinction of being Sony’s first Android Wear device and comes in a wide array of band colors.

Other cool stuff

Sony also announced that the Z3, Z3 Compact, and the Z3 Tablet Compact will have access to the PS4’s remote play feature. Allowing for gamers to stream their PS4 games to their phones with a compatible PS4 controller. Sony also unveiled more attachable lens in the form of Q-X1 and Q-X 30, 4K, Curved televisions, and a New HiFi Audio MP3 player in the form of the Walkman NWZ and the MDR Headphones for a High Quality audio listening experience.
