Apple’s epic Sept 9th iPhone keynote has come and gone and with it, the next generation of iPhones have arrived to further Apple’s device portfolio.
The first of the new devices was the 4.7 inch iPhone 6. The new phone has a powerful A8 Chip, enhanced LTE support for even more carriers, including support for both VO-LTE (Voice over LTE), and WiFi calling support for select carriers. The new device will also come with iOS 8 including all the cool features of continuity and hand off, which will further integrate MMS and SMS support for the iOS devices that can run iOS 8.
In addition to the 4.7 inch device, Apple surprised many people with the unveiling of a 5.5 inch iPhone 6. The phone, the iPhone 6 Plus, has the exact same processor and LTE antennas as the 4.7 in iPhone. The real differences are in the display; where the iPhone 6 has a 720p+ Retina HD display. The iPhone 6 Plus has a 1080p display, a first for the iPhone.
Besides the obvious size, where the 6 is still a non “phablet” device, the 6 Plus, is clearly in the territory as an iPhone tablet hybrid. The final difference between the two devices is in the camera. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, both use a brand new 8 Megapixel iSight camera, with a re-engineered True-Tone flash module; The iPhone 6 uses software image stabilization, while the 6 Plus uses hardware Optic Image Stabilization, (also a first for the iPhone) that will bring near unrivaled photo quality.
Finally, both new iPhone’s will be compatible with the new Apple Pay, payment system and the upcoming Apple Watch.
