Microsoft Ditches Nokia Brand And Launches An Adapter

In a bit of Microsoft news. The company has decided to abandon the “Nokia” branding on its devices and replace it with “Microsoft Lumia” branding on its future devices. While this is disheartening, it makes sense that Microsoft would like to distance Nokia, from its smartphone efforts since it purchased the smartphone portion of the company.

In other news, Microsoft has launched a rather cool little adapter. The Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, allows a user to display a second screen using Miracast technology (Wifi Direct) to create an access point in which to show off a second screen on whatever monitor the dongle is attached too. The dongle is a little more expensive than Google Chromecast or similar streaming sticks at $59.99 but it’s nice that the company in Redmond, at least has a competitor in the space.

So are you excited for the adapter? Sad at the lost of Nokia? Sound of below.
