Nokia Lumia 1020 Successor Leaks

Recently the tech site Geek On Gadgets, showed off a Windows Phone prototype. The device is speculated to be the successor to the Nokia Lumia 1020, called Microsoft Lumia 1030 or “McLaren” device (code-name). The device shown has the word prototype listed on the device, as well as a link to a Nokia Prototype page, which allows the device to be registered (can be found here). In terms of build quality. The phone showed, seems to be an early prototype, an all metal body showing through, absent of any color, say for the band on the bottom that is thought to be where the antenna system will be located.

One of the potential standouts for this device, is the rumored 50 megapixel shooter, that is rumored to be developed by Toshiba, instead of Carl Ziess, which was always the case with other Windows Phone devices, that were manufactured by Nokia. A final and uncorroborated rumor, is that the “McLarren” Windows Phone, could be the first to use Microsoft’s “3D Touch” technology, for enhanced touch controls. It is important to note that  the “McLarren” was also said to have been cancelled earlier this year, yet the “3D Touch” controls were still being investigated by the company for a future release.

In terms of specifications on the prototype though. The device shown has an unnamed Quad-Core processor, 32GB of on-board storage, 2GB of RAM and of course, the 50 megapixel camera. It is also show to have a 5 inch, 1080p display, and is running Windows 8.1.

The leaked pictures of the device can be found over at Geek On Gadgets website.
