HP Announces Two New Android Tablets

HP has a long and rather complicated history with Android tablets. Last month the company showed off two premium large form factor Android tablets.

The HP Slate 8, is the less exciting of the two at 7.9 inches but runs a solid stock build of Android 4.4, with a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of Ram, 32GB of expandable storage with Micro SD card support, and a 2048×1536 screen. It also has a 8 megapixel camera for optics.

Finally, the Slate 12, is a massive 12.3 inch behemoth of a tablet, with the exact same specifications as the Pro 8 with exception of the display which is at 1600×1200. HP is pushing these devices as enterprise devices and it shows, the Slate 12 will include accessories like an optional tablet dock, with a multitude of ports for various connections. Another interesting add-on is the Duet Pen, which allows users to take notes and have the contents of the note transferred immediately to the tablet.

The design is whats most tricking about these two tablets. They look a lot like massive HTC one smartphones -which in my own opinion should have been what the Nexus 9 was.
