Reviews of the One M9 have been somewhat mixed in terms of the devices’ physical similarities to the M8 and M7 that came before it. The One M9 Plus has been in the rumor mill since the unveiling of the M9. Now the device is official, exclusive to China.
If you are looking to import the M9 Plus then you will be getting a phone that is distinctly different in a lot of ways to the M9 – in a strange way it can be seen as more of a successor to the M8 then the M9.
Really though, the closet next to kin to the M9 Plus is the HTC One Max that came out a few years ago. The M9 Plus shares many of the same features as the One Max, with many of them refined and expanded upon.
In terms of hardware, the M9 Plus has a Octacore Mediatek Helios X10 processor, a 20 Megapixel camera with a secondary DuoCamera depth sensor, BoomSound, and a 5.2 in 2K display. Where the HTC M9 Plus is improved upon over the One Max is in a brand new fingerprint sensor akin to the one found on the S6 over the back mounted one of the One Max and a 20 Megapixel camera that is found on the regular M9.
Finally in terms of software the M9 Plus will be running Android 5.0 Lolipop atop HTC Sense 7.
