Yesterday at a Microsoft Surface event, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella described a grand step forward for the Surface family of mobile devices. It was widely believed that this event was to be the unveiling of the long rumored “Surface Mini,” a rumored 7-8 in tablet that would be Microsoft’s answer to the iPad mini. That device though did not materialize. In its place though, Microsoft launched the “Surface Pro 3.”
The Surface Pro 3, has a massive 12 inch screen with a stunning 2160×1440 resolution and 3.2 aspect ratio. The device is thinner and lighter too than its predecessor weighing in at 28.2 ounces and .38 inches thick. One of the devices coolest features is a refined kickstand, which now is fully adjustable to a nearly flat 150 degrees, allowing for a better overall typing experience. Pricing for the Surface Pro 3, begins at $800 however, a maxed out configuration with a Core i-7, 8GB Ram, and 512 GB SSD drive will push the cost to a whopping $1950 dollars. You can pre-order the device here.
So what are you impressions of the Surface Pro 3? Would you trade in a MacBook Air for it? Do you want to keep your laptop or tablet? Sound off in the comments below.
