Microsoft today launched its first non-Nokia smartphone today. The Lumia 535 and 535 Duel Sim variant, are the first devices under the “Microsoft Lumia” branding. The phone is the start of Microsoft’s renewed assault on low-end smartphones.
The price of the 535, is very low. At 110 euros ($130 US), the 535 is an incredibly affordable entry for any smartphone user. In terms of specifications, the Lumia 535, comes with a 5 megapixel front facing camera, Bluetooth LE, a Snapdragon 200 processor, 5″ qHD touchscreen. To help with performance, the Lumia 535, comes with 1 GB of Ram and 8 GB of storage with microSD card support that will support SD cards up to an additional 128GB of storage.
On the software side of things, the Microsoft device, will be running Windows Phone 8.1 with the new “Denim” update, which will come with even more goodies, such as the enhanced downloads in IE, Apps Corner, and Store Live TIles.
