A couple of years ago, the LG Nexus 5 was arguably the best value Android smartphone on the market. With a great display, average camera, powerful processor, and stock OS made the device a huge success.
The Nexus 5 was such a popular device that rumors of a retread and a 2015 remake of the phone have persisted to this day. Earlier this year at Google I/O the tech world postulated over a render of the bottom of an unreleased smartphone, that many hypothesized to be a new Nexus device, namely the Nexus 5. Now a new batch of leaked photos show off what is purported to be the new Nexus 5.
Whats important to notice is the inclusion of what may be a fingerprint scanner, a camera bulge, a duel tone flash, prominent “Nexus” branding, and an “LG” sticker noting its prototype status.
In terms of hardware the only things we know are the screen size will be between 5.2 and 5.7 inch’s (This may be pointing to two separate versions of the Nexus 5) and may have USB type-C and stereo speakers.
The new device will be running (most likely) Android M or Marshmallow as it is now known as.
While every leak should be taken with a grain of salt, it’s safe to assume that the device may in fact be legitimate and close to a formal announcement.
