After nearly four months of delays, Microsoft has finally kept good on its promise and launched Windows 10 Mobile for select Lumia and Nokia devices.
While the release is staggered and subject to carrier approval, once it lands, then full control of the OS fall to Microsoft in terms of support.
Windows 10 Mobile will be pushed to “most” Lumia’s assuming they have over 1GB of RAM. This means that Windows Phone devices that have 512MB will not be receiving the update due to stability concerns. Some notable omissions include the Lumia 1020 and HTC M8 with Windows – stability seems to be the main reason that the update will not be pushed to these devices.
